Spring Walking

The Texas Buddhist Monks “Walk for Peace” from Texas to Washington DC  is Inspirational. I have found that it is possible for days to be anchored in Centering Prayer and a lifelong “Walk for Peace” beginning with and continuing through our local neighborhoods. On this path are chants and silence woven with sunshine and rain, light hearted conversations right next to deep ones and laughter.  Connection.

As a continuous work in progress Thunder Strike’s teaching:  let go within fifteen minutes of any thought that does not serve you well comes to mind.  It is a daily effort to clear internal clutter, ensuring one does not loose footing on the vibrant evolving edge of life.

So many horrendous distractions at this time, some distracting from the day before’s horrendous distraction. A different rhythm remains. The lyrics of the Medical Mission Sisters’ “Joy is like the Rain” resonates: “Christ (Hokkshideh)”

asleep within my boat

whipped by wind yet still afloat

Joy is tried by storm

We are tried by storm

We are still afloat

Existence remains afloat.

In these times, the response is to LOVE RELENTLESSLY, knowing that the only thing on the other side of Love is more Love.  The path is found through ceremony, teachings, meditation, song, forgiveness, understanding, kindness and Love.

The Walk for Peace is a vow to give and receive Love with total abundance and wild abandon.
