Community Harvest

Kicking off October we prayed about “community” in our October 3rd Purification Lodge gathering on a beautiful and mild sunny day at Whispering Winds Lodge. We explored what it means to “build community”. In today’s world where more and more isolation and polarization is encouraged, our task is to come together despite our differences. Belonging, service, and reciprocity were common themes of community that were touched in how we can expand ourselves in community.

On October 24th, we have an opportunity to joyfully give back to our community at the Autumn Olive Removal Party on October 24th at ceremonial land. We will complete the day with a fellowship potluck.

Autumn Olives are beautiful, fragrant trees with delicious and nutritious berries. They are also a highly invasive species. They spread rapidly and crowd out native plants and make the land unusable for plants, animals and humans. Much of the land we used for Ceremony is now crowded by Autumn Olives!

For those of you interested in joining the Autumn Olive Removal Party on the Michigan Ceremonial Land, we will meet to get a good start on the Fall clean-up. If you are able, join in the defense of our beautiful ceremonial land, native trees and plants on one of those days or all of them. Shamanism for the Fifth World - October 24
